Established in 2009 by EFIS and the European Journal of Immunology (EJI), the prize acknowledges female group leaders with an outstanding track record of achievement in immunology who have run an independent laboratory for a minimum of four and no more than ten years.

The prize consists of a €20,000 cash award, plus support for travel, accommodations and registration to attend an award ceremony at the next European Congress of Immunology, ECI 2027 in Florence, Italy.

The call for nominations will be coordinated jointly by the EFIS Gender & Diversity Task Force and EFIS central offices, with the selection of this year's awardee to be announced in September 2025.
